Tortula
Angelfish Reef
This site features reef and sand with ridges creating narrow canyons and numerous kinds of marine life. Large swells and currents. Intermediate, Depth: 10 - 90 ft.
Brewers Bay West
This location features granite rocks formation of alleys for small fish such as Juveniles, Spotted Drums, Red Lip Bennies and Lobsters. Novice - Advanced, Depth: 25 - 60 ft.
Brewers Bay Pinnacles
This site comprises pinnacles rising from the
ocean floor. There is a diversity of marine life
with large Jacks, Tarpon, Eagle Rays and Turtles.
In the spring time you can hear the Humpback
Whales singing. Advanced, Depth: 25 - 110 ft.
Brewers Bay East
Brewers Bay East, a haven for Rays, Tarpons and
Nurse Sharks, comprises sand and coral and is
an exiting wall dive. Advanced, Depth: 25 - 90 ft.
Brown Pants
This network consists of rocky canyons, with
an open cave in one. Large swells and currents
can restrict. Novice, Depth: 10 - 40 ft.
Gun Point
Sand and coral, Damsel Fish, Fairy Basslets,
Surgeon and Doctor Fish. Novice, Depth: 25 - 40 ft.
Norman
This features ring dove rock coral mound
which divers can spiral up and around; Sergeant
Majors, Lobsters, Moray Eels and Butterfly Fish.
Occasional current. Novice, Depth: 15 - 70 ft.
Pelican
Rainbow Canyons colourful dive with corals,
sea fans and sponges of all sizes. Also, Juvenile
Trunkfish, Creole Wrasse, Queen Angelfish;
sheltered water; good for photography and
night dives. Advanced, Depth: 20 - 90 ft.
Santa Monica Rock
Large underwater pinnacle with many nooks
and crannies where Moray Eels and small fish
can hide. In addition, there are Pelagics, Atlantic
Spadefish, Barracuda, Horse-Eye Jacks, Kingfish
and Turtles. Large swells and currents. Intermediate, Depth: 20 - 70 ft.
Spyglass Wall
A wall that drops to a sandy bottom, at this
location there are sea fans, large coral heads
and small fish such as Damselfish, Wrasse,
Fairy Basslets, Tarpon, Eagle Rays and Southern
Stingrays. Occasional swells. Advanced, Depth: 10 - 60 ft.
The Indians
Pinnacles rise out of the sea with caves and
swim through; variety of corals and fish such as
Angel Fish, Blue Chromis, Rock Beauties, Black
Durgeons; good photography, night dive. Advanced, Depth: 15 – 90 ft.
The Caves
A favourite for snorkeling, this area has
four caves with walls covered with sponges.
Occasional surge; snorkeling. Intermediate, Depth: 4 - 40 ft.
Peter
Black Forest
Named after the black coral found here, this
site is a mini reef wall with many nooks and
crannies. It is usually calm. Advanced, Depth: 30 – 70 ft.
Blonde Rock
Located between Dead Chest and Salt Island,
this site features a multitude of ledges and
undercuts. Occasional current and wind chops. Advanced, Depth: 10 - 65 ft.
Carrot Shoal
This features a 200-foot ridge raising 60 ft.
with nooks and crannies, providing a haven for
a diversity of marine life for fish. Occasional
current, surface chop if windy. Intermediate, Depth: 11- 60 ft.
Rhone Anchor
Columns and clumps of hard corals and sandy
bottom typify this site. The coral encrusted
Rhone anchor, which is home to many species
of fish, can be found lying in the sand. Advanced, Depth: 30 - 60 ft.
Shark Point
In open ocean, with exceptional visibility, this
site features soft corals that cover the reef
and ridges with a maze of alleys and caves to
explore. The marine life in this area is also
buoyant. Intermediate, Depth: 25 - 80 ft.
The Fearless
This 100-foot wreck is home to French Grunts,
Bar Soldierfish, and Creole Wrasse. Southern
Rays and the occasional Eagle Ray or Turtle are
typical at this location.
